Longing for a slower, more present life?

Days move at a relentless pace—work piles up, kids grow up almost as fast as our parents age. Relationships shift, often sliding into patterns of disconnection and crisis. Every weekend brings another commitment or outdoor venture.

Amid this rush of to-dos, uncertainty, and overwhelm, you’re standing still, trying to hold it all together to support everyone around you, often at the expense of your own needs.

Yearning for space and support to slow down, process, and cope with it all. To stop living in survival mode and be more present for what matters most now: family, marriage, community, and nature.

True healing begins by tending to the connection to your inner and outer worlds.

I’m Marie Cobb. I founded True Nature Counseling to help you reconnect with yourself, your loved ones, and your community so you can build a life rooted in purpose and presence.

A life as full and expansive as the beautiful mountains around us.

Why work with me?

I get the need to slow down.

I served individuals and families at my Denver private practice for 15+ years. But like many of my clients, I saw the value of a slower pace and access to the outdoors, so I swapped the city life for the mountains. And now my nature-based practice has a trail right at my doorstep!

Healing is relational + experiential.

I genuinely believe relationships are avenues to healing and that deep emotional experiences with each other and nature can lead to growth and transformation. And it all starts with nurturing your relationship with yourself.

You’ll access a blend of modalities (some unique to the region!)

Sessions may involve cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), neuroscience, attachment theory, and other modalities, always centered on lasting change versus a diagnosis. I’m also one of the few couples counselors in the area certified in emotionally-focused therapy (EFT) — helping you move from conflict or crisis to a stronger bond. My style is compassionate, direct, and open to challenging you and your partner as needed.

What brought me here…

My journey started in the education and non-profit sectors. I was an AmeriCorps volunteer and later became the director of a non-profit program that helped inner-city youth graduate from high school. Then I transitioned into counseling, working with a holistic wilderness therapy program focused on nutrition, yoga, meditation, and family therapy. I enjoyed the spiritual connection and social disruption nature offered, and now see it as the cornerstone of this practice.

Supporting families drew me to EFT and couples counseling, which mirrors the experiential approach in the wilderness. Since 2020, I’ve also dived into the evidence on psychedelics and their potential to increase neuroplasticity, training in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), and now integrating it as appropriate for trauma, depression, and anxiety symptoms.

I live in Conifer with my husband and two kids. At nearly 50 years old, I’m contemplating the chapters of life and continuing to do the work, so I know this is not an easy path. But I’ve seen how clarity and support can help us get unstuck and grow to be better partners, parents, and humans.
